Postural correction is a form of alternative therapy that concentrates on rectifying and aligning the spine and joints in the body (Musculoskeletal system) by correcting them using different techniques.
It aims to correct mechanical disorders in the skeletal system
This treatment has been extremely effective for many pains.
Prior to any treatment that is undertaken, the client is made fully aware of the procedures that they will have so that fully informed consent can be given before beginning any treatment.
Equipment is sanitized and prepared prior to any treatment as well as any areas being worked on or near. The client will then sit on the massage bed for examination. In some cases patient may be asked to stand to also assess the problem. Then adjustment techniques are then carried out to adjust the areas affected, practitioner would normally cover the full body from upper spine (Cervical region) down to the Lumbar spine covering all joints; wrist, elbows, ankles, knees and hips. Once all the body is correctly adjusted the patient is then asked to sit up and then thereafter asked to walk around to help settle all the body. Then the patient is re-assessed to make sure a sense of freeness is established by the patient and the ROM (range of motion) has increased. Once the session is complete the patient is given post treatment advice in order to self manage and further help heal injury or are of pain.
Being adjusted has many benefits some examples are:
• Helps reduce migraines
• Helps reduce neck related headaches
• Reduces pain
• Can help with arthritis
• Improves ROM (range of motion) of the spine and joints
• Improves posture
• Helps stimulate nerves and improves nerve communication throughout the body
• Can help with sciatic pains
• Reduces inflammation
• Relieves pressure from the spine and joints
• Helps mental wellbeing
• Helps relax muscles and ligaments
Yes, postural correction are generally considered safe when performed by a holistic health practitioner. However, as with any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects, such as soreness or discomfort after the adjustment.
The length of a adjustment varies depending on the individual and the specific technique being used. Some adjustments can be performed quickly in just a few minutes, while others may take longer, especially for more complex or severe cases.
Postural correction adjustments can be used to treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including back pain, neck pain, headaches, joint pain, and even certain digestive and respiratory issues.
Postural correction should not be painful, but you may experience some discomfort or soreness afterwards. The level of discomfort can vary depending on the specific technique used and your individual pain tolerance. Your holistic health practitioner will communicate with you throughout the adjustment to ensure that you are comfortable.
